Mechanical Project - GANTRY CRANE
Submitted by sshnvl on Tue, 03/30/2010 - 09:48.The aim of our project is to improve a crane based on the operation of gantry crane ,the function of a gantry crane is to transport the material from place to another outside the yard. This crane moves on rail at high speed and carries more weight.
Based on the principle our unit can also be used inside the factory, shop floor .i.e. transporting of material from inspection to store etc.It consists of a base made up of channels. Rollers are provided at the bottom for movement.Over the base there are two columns, which is bended at the top. It helps to load the materials from the trucks.
