NICMAR, National Institute of Construction Management and Research is an autonomous institution which gives training in civil engineering and architectural sectors. NICMAR has branches in Goa and Hyderabad. Even though civil engineering degrees encountered a ‘not-so- friendly market’ for a while, now India and other foreign countries offer lot of opportunities to those who have expertise degrees in the construction and building sector.

NICMAR invites application for 5 full time programs. The last date of application is June . Some of the relevant information is given below:

• PG program in Advanced Construction Management: This is a two year program which trains engineers, architects and techno-commercial managers who handle projects.
• PG program in Project Engineering Management: This is a two year program that trains Project Engineers who handle multi-sector projects consisting of mechanical, electrical, chemical and civil factions.
• PG program in Real Estate and Urban Infrastructure Management: This too is a two year program.
• Post graduate program in Health, Safety and Environment Management: This is a one year PG program.
• Post Graduate program in Quantity Surveying: This PG program is for one year.

Qualifications Required:

Courses 1, 2 and 3 require a graduate degree in any Engineering trades or in Architecture. For Course 2, graduate degree in any Engineering branch is obligatory. A graduate degree in any Engineering branch or an Engineering Diploma and 5 years of experience in Supervisory are what Course 4 demands.

Apart from the courses mentioned above, NICMAR receives application for two part- time courses and three distance education courses up to June 1.
