How can I get a duplicate copy of my degree ceritificate ?

Can anyone pls help me with the ways and means of procuring my duplicate
graduation certificate.I ve been working in Abudhabi for last 5 months.Before coming here, i had given my attested graduation certificate to my employer for processing my visa. And now i came to know that he has misplaced it somewhere and has no clue as to where it is.I am in a fix now...
Can anyone pls let me know if my graduation certificate is required, if i go for a different job with a different employer?I am also looking at doin my PG for which i will be needing my certificate. How and what are the possibilities of procuring a duplicate certificate?

How to Duplicate Certificate
You have to apply for a duplicate combined with an affidavit or declaration of loss and obtain Notary signature and the fee to be remitted by chalan, or through the designated Banks. In this case they may demand a FIR copy from the Police, and police has to declare the complaint could not be handled further since it is not traceable.
