Hindu Young World Painting Competition for Students in Kerala

All those desirous of participating in the competition (juniors – from
class IV to class VII and seniors – from class VIII to class X) have to
send their drawings (for the preliminary round) to the centers that is
nearest to their place of residence or to the centre where they would
like to come for the finals. No entry fee .
The Hindu Young World Painting Competition will be held at 14 centres:

November 29: Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode and Bangalore
November 30: Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirapalli, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, New Delhi, Mangalore and Mysore

As in previous years, there is no entry fee or entry form for participation.

The topics for the preliminary round for the junior category are: 

Topics for Juniors (Class IV to VII)

  •     Sports Day
  •     In the zoo
  •     Flying kites
  •     Birthday party

Topics for Seniors (Class VIII to X)

  •     Watching a stage play
  •     On a hill station
  •     Bandh/Strike day
  •     Environment day.

The preliminary round entries should reach all centres by November 3, 2008, and all those selected for the finals will be sent individual letters containing details about the venue of the competition, timing, etc.

Rules and regulations:

All you have to do is to draw the painting on a white drawing sheet (Size 26 cms ? 27 cms) choosing any one of the 4 topics given, get it certified by your Principal or Art teacher as your own work, write your name, age, class, school and residential address and send the entry along with two BooProo Liquid filled Bubble Gum Mono-wrappers to any of the addresses given above, which is nearest to your place or where you would like to come for the final painting competition .

Selected students will be intimated individually and they should come to the venue (with the intimation letter) at their own cost on the specified date to participate in the finals which will commence at 9 a.m. sharp.

The topic for the finals will be given at the venue. Judges’ decision will be final.The paintings become the sole property of The Hindu and will not be returned. Prizes will be distributed to the winners the same afternoon at the venue.Apart from the first, second and third prizes, there will be consolation prizes too.Every prize winner will receive a gift hamper from ‘Lotte BooProo’. Participation certificates will be given to the other finalists.
