Who can attend this course? 

Participants from Minority communities notified under section 2(c) of NCM Act, 1922 are eligible to attend this course free of cost. They are:- Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis (Zoroastrians). The annual income of the student/parent or guardian of student should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakhs from all sources. 
The eligible candidates will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 1500/-, Rs 750/- for outstation and local candidates respectively.

  • Qualifying certificate (Memorandum of marks). 
  • Community Certificate from (Mandal Revenue officer). 
  • Income certificate. (Mandal Revenue officer). 
  • Affidavit Certificate from notary.

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to B.Sc. Co-operation and Banking (C&B) course at College of Co-operation, Banking and Management, Vellanikkara for the year 2009-10.

Eligibility for admission: -

 Pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or examinations recognised equivalent there to with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks. A pass in the qualifying examination is enough in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Application fees

Application fees of Rs.300/- for general category and Rs. 150/- for SC/ST category should be remitted as demand draft in favour of Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University, Vellanikkara, Thrissur payable at State Bank of Travancore, KAU Branch along with filled in application form. No other mode of payment will be accepted.

Introduction to course

1. B.Sc. Co-operation and Banking (C&B) Hons course is offered by the Kerala Agricultural University in the Faculty of Agriculture at the College of Cooperation, Banking and Management at the KAU Main Campus, Vellanikkara, Thrissur.
2. Duration of the course is 8 semesters (4 years)

4. System of Teaching and Evaluation: Semester course credit system of instruction with internal and external evaluation
5. Intake capacity: 40 seats including 6 seats under ICAR quota

Selection of candidates

  •  Rank list for the selection of candidates will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained at the qualifying examination at the higher secondary level or equivalent.If there is a tie, those having higher marks in English in the qualifyingexamination will be preferred.

It may be noted that editing of the pre-printed text in the application format in any way other than as indicated (like ticking, filling in with ink, scoring off inapplicable material) will render the application invalid and liable for rejection.

 The filled in application forms may be submitted alongwith the application fee as indicated below to the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University,

Each application should be accompanied by an application fee of Rs.300/- by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Comptroller, Kerala
Agricultural University, Vellanikkara payable at State Bank of Travancore, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara (branch code no. 7670). No other
mode of payment will be accepted. SC/ST candidates need remit an application fee of only Rs.150/-. The application fee once paid will not be
refunded under any circumstances. Application forms without the req uired fee will be summarily rejected.

IGNOU Admissions- Master of Intellectual Property Law - (Online) MIPL and One-Year Diploma in Paralegal Practice

This is a new specialist Master degree in Intellectual Property Law which has been developed by IGNOU in collaboration with leading Australian universities - Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Students who join the MIPL with an LL.B, after successful completing six subjects in the first year of the MIPL would have the option to proceed to QUT to study four subjects in one semester of the QUT Master of Laws. To study at QUT students would be required to meet the Australian English Language and visa requirements and would be subject to the standard fee, rules and regulations applicable to international students.

2. One-Year Diploma in Paralegal Practice-

Eligibility: 10+2 or its equivalent or BPP from IGNOU
Duration: Minimum: 1 Year, Maximum:  4 Years
Fee: Rs. 6000
Medium: English from July, 2009,    Hindi from January, 2010

Paralegal Practice is a unique programme which develops legal skills among citizens and groups to access law and justice. It provides functional understanding of law and imparts elementary skills.  It aims to create a cadre of ‘barefoot’ lawyers to provide preventive legal assistance. Legal aid organizations, Panchayat functionaries including elected representatives, government functionaries, non-governmental organizations or any person whose work profile entails engagement with the legal system would benefit from this diploma.
