Embedded Systems in Project Applications from Model finishing School Kerala

A joint initiative of IT Department, Government of Kerala and Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), with the support of Infosys, the Model Finishing School has been set up to bridge gaps in employ ability of professionally qualified youths of Kerala. The institution based at  Thiruvananthapuram started a Course in Embedded System Design in Project Applications. Training will be held at the Finishing School premises, Science and Technology Museum Complex, PMG Junction, Thiruvananthapuram.

Eligible Candidates

Students who have completed/studying  B.Tech (Computer Science/Electronics/IT), MCA/M.Sc (Computer Science/Electronics/IT), BCA/B.Sc(Computer Science/Electronics/IT) and Diploma holders/students 
from Polytechnics are eligible for applying this course.

About course Embedded Systems in Project Applications

  • The 15 day long  Course on Embedded Systems in Project Applications  is aimed at exposing students in the area of Embedded Systems.
  • The Course curriculum is so designed  to give importance for doing Projects in Embedded System Design.
  • Applications are to be submitted online at the website of Model Finishing School .
  • The fee for this programme is Rs.6000. Merit is the sole criteria for admission.
  • At the time of certificate verification, candidates have to produce the following:

2. Hardware architectures of embedded systems: Hardware architecture, Application circuits, embedded system architecture and micro controllers, hardware-software co-design, communication interfaces.
3. Software architecture of embedded systems: embedded C
4. Real-time operating systems (RTOS): (Introduction to Real – Time Operating Systems: Tasks and Task States, Tasks and Data, Semaphores, and Shared Data; Message Queues, Mailboxes and Pipes, Timer Functions, Events, Memory Management, Interrupt Routines in an RTOS Environment (Chapter 6 and 7 from Text Book 3, Simon) Basic Design Using a Real-Time Operating System: Principles, Semaphores and Queues, Hard Real-Time Scheduling Considerations, Saving Memory and Power, An example RTOS like uC-OS (Open Source); Embedded Software Development Tools: Host and Target machines, Linker/Locators for Embedded Software, Getting Embedded Software into the Target System; Debugging Techniques: Testing on Host Machine, Using Laboratory Tools, An Example System. (Chapter 8,9,10 and 11 from Text Book 3, Simon)

The course in Embedded System Design in Project Applications began at an institute based in Cochin. Training will be conducted at premises of Finishing School.

         
Eligibility

     Students who have finished studying B.Tech [Computer Science/ Electronics/IT], BCA/B.Sc [Computer Science/Electronics/IT], MCA/ M.Sc [Computer Science/Electronics/IT] and Diploma holders/students from Polytechnics are qualified for applying this.

About the Course

The embedded system in project applications is a 15 days course aimed at familiarizing students to the field of embedded systems. The syllabus of the course is designed to emphasize more on doing projects in embedded system design. The students can apply online through the model finishing school website. Rs.6000 is the course fee and the admission is solely based on merit. Students have to produce the following documents during verification of certificates.
