Career and Job Prospects of D Pharm Course in Kerala

Under the perspective of Pharmacy Council of India, they introduced a new course in the doctorate field. D Pham course or doctorate of pharmacy for the pharmaceutical society in India. The course details of the respective is published in the 2008 MAY 10-16 Indian gazette (No 19, part III) . This course is taught in our country according to the present academic system used by the   Western countries including America. The graduates’ students in Pharm. D course can get jobs in these western countries easily than before .In fact Pharm. D graduation can give this opportunity in a simple way.

Other Pharmacy courses in India

•  The students who passed the +2 with the required subjects can go for a 2 year course of D Pharm. (diploma in pharmacy).
•  The +2 passed students can also opt for a 4 year course of B Pharm.(bachelor of pharmacy). D Pharm. Graduates can also apply for B Pharm. They can start from the second year of the B Pharm. Through lateral entry.
•  The students passing B Pharm. Course can go further for a M Pharm. (master of pharmacy) for 2 years.

D Pharm. Alone have 2 types

1. D Pharm. Course for +2 passed students, in which after the 5 years course they will have a 1 year internship/residency course too. So all it takes 6 years to complete the course. The applicants should know Physics and chemistry in + 2 also should know either mathematics or biology in +2. D Pharm.  Holders can also apply for the course.

2. D Pharm. - post baccalaureate, a 3 year course in which 2 years for studies and 1 year for internship /residency. 

D Pharm. Qualifications:

In Kerala, we have only the former D Pharm. Program. But we can go for the later D Pharm. Course in post baccalaureate in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
