Aries Institute of Marine Technology invites application for PG Diploma in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering. This is the only one type of course in the whole of India which converts engineers into the Marine Design Field.

At present Cochin University, IIT Madras and IIT Karagpur only produce Naval Architects. Out of this, the IIT graduates go to research or change field for foreign immigration. That leaves only the Cochin University products to cater for the whole Marine Industry in India. There are only 22 Naval Architects from Cochin University per year for the Industry, the rest are for the Navy. Out of this almost 50% get foreign jobs immediately. That leaves only 11. The present requirement of Naval Architects in India alone is more than 50 per year. That is the reason why there is a great demand for Naval Architects and we started this course.

Placement Activities

        So far 7 batches passed out with full placements. In fact the previous batches have received a minimum of 2 job offers at hand. Our passed out engineers are now working in Keppel(Singapore), Dubai Dry Docks, Chowgules (India), Infotech (India), SEDS(Bahamas), Grandweld (Dubai), Germanisher Lloyd(Germany), Vik Sanvik (Norway), Bharati Shipyard (India), Neilsoft (India), Alcok Aston(India), Mechmarine (India), Yantai (China), CIWTC(India), Master Shipyard(India), Technomak (Dubai), Aries(Dubai)  etc. The total INTAKE is only 10.

The next batch is starting on Feb 11th 2009.  After getting short listed, you can book your seat by sending a DD for Rs.10,000/- payable to ARIES INSTITUTE OF MARINE TECHNOLOGY. Naval Architects passing out from AIMT are recognized by RINA (Royal Institution of Naval Architects, UK) and SNAME (Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, USA)
